A Warm Chicago Wedding at Rockwell on the River
Megan and Bobby had a clear brief: warm and welcoming, beautiful but not stiff. Rockwell on the River gave them a starting point — a raw Chicago industrial space right on the water — and we built from there.
Industrial venues are wonderful canvases, but they can read cold without the right layering. For this one, we brought in soft dramatic draping and strung bistro lights to add warmth and texture to the walls. Above the dance floor, modern chandeliers anchored the room and gave guests something to look up at. The combination kept the industrial bones of the space but made it feel intimate.
The florals ran white and green with a thread of soft peach woven through — a nod to Megan’s personality that kept the palette approachable rather than formal. Nothing too precious, nothing too expected. That same spirit carried into one of the details we loved most: after the ceremony, the floral arch got a neon sign added and became the photo booth backdrop for the reception. It worked because it wasn’t an afterthought — it was a moment guests kept finding their way back to all night.
The brief was simple: warm and beautiful, not overdone. Rockwell on the River was exactly the right room for it.
