An Intimate Vineyard Wedding at a Private Estate in Lake Bluff
2020 asked a lot of couples. Kara and Charlie answered with grace.
The uncertainty of that year made large celebrations impossible, and like so many couples, they had to reimagine what their wedding day would look like. They chose to gather with immediate family only at the bride’s home in Lake Bluff, and from there, they committed fully to making it something worth remembering.
A smaller guest list meant we could invest deeply in every detail, and Kara had a vision worth investing in. Earthy, grounded, and accented with California-inspired warmth, the aesthetic felt completely at home against the natural beauty of the property.
The ceremony took place in the family’s own vineyard. The reception moved to the bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, a backdrop that needed very little help being spectacular. A custom-built hanging structure became the focal point of the design, the moment guests arrived and understood exactly what kind of evening this was going to be. Every surrounding detail was chosen to feel natural and considered, never overdone.
What could have felt like a compromise became one of the most personal and beautifully executed celebrations we have been part of. Kara and Charlie made the most of it, and then some.
