A Classic Wedding at Armour House in Lake Forest
Anna and Thomas knew exactly what they wanted: a wedding that felt timeless. Armour House at Lake Forest Academy — with its stone architecture, formal gardens, and a sweeping staircase that seems built for a bride’s entrance — was the natural fit. The Creative Planners worked with the existing grandeur of the space rather than against it, adding florals and décor to the fountain and along the staircase where the wedding party made their entrance.
The day started with a little suspense. Rain came and went through the morning, and the outdoor garden ceremony looked uncertain for a while. They waited it out, and the skies cooperated just in time. There’s something fitting about a couple with that kind of calm patience getting their moment in the garden — it felt earned.
Inside, the reception carried the same refined energy as the ceremony. The Entourage kept the floor moving all night, and as the evening wound down, a gelato cart appeared for late-night snacking before the sparkler send-off. It was a small, playful touch — the kind that lands differently at a wedding like this, where everything else has been so polished and considered.
Armour House doesn’t need much help looking beautiful. But the right details in the right places make all the difference, and Anna and Thomas had a wonderful eye for both.
